Pilsdon Manor
How lucky we are to live in the age of the welfare state, yet there are still those who fall through the cracks and cry out for rescue. For nearly 70 years the Pilsdon Community has offered a refuge, spiritual support and practical help to those in crisis or on the margins of society. Living with others in the 500-year-old manor house, next to the church of St Mary, and working on its farm gives them a chance to reflect before taking a new direction in life. Wayfarers are also offered overnight accommodation before travelling on. The Community is an Anglican foundation, but it welcomes people of any faith or none, and of any race, culture or sexual orientation.
